| Americans Lose to Angels, 4-2 | A good performance from third baseman Martin Dihigo helped the Los Angeles Angels defeat the Boston Americans, 4-2. Dihigo went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Angels. Tim Keefe earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. Felix Hernandez got credit for the save for Los Angeles. It was his 4th of the year.
Dihigo had no bigger at-bat than in the bottom of the first when the 20-year old third baseman hit a 2-run home run. The home run gave Los Angeles the lead, 2-0. It was his 2nd home run of the season.
"I really like what we did out there today," Dihigo said after the game.
The loss drops the Americans to 9-5.
