Boston right-hander Tom L Hughes pitched his team to victory over the Los Angeles Angels at Wrigley Field (LA). The final score was 5-2. Hughes picked up the win for Boston, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. John W Morris got the save, the 4th for him this season.
In the top of the sixth, with Boston leading 2-0, center fielder Tony R Armas hit a 2-run single. The hit came off Lou Pote and put the Americans ahead, 4-0.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Hughes.
The loss puts Los Angeles at 8-7.
