| Americans Win at Birmingham, 5-4 | The Boston Americans weathered an outstanding game by Birmingham first baseman Howie Kendrick to topple the Black Barons, 5-4. Kendrick went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Brickyard Kennedy picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 1 in 6.2 innings. The defeat makes Birmingham 11-10.
Brickyard Kennedy had an important at-bat with one out in the top of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season put Boston on top, 3-0.
