Doing his part was left fielder Chipper Jones, who went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Dick Radatz, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. The win puts Milwaukee at 8-12.
Todd Zeile had a clutch hit in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two men out and the bases loaded, the Milwaukee first baseman hit a 2-run single. That put the Bears in the lead, 4-3.
