| Red Sox Make It 4 In a Row with 5-1 Triumph Over Kansas City | Memphis Red Sox pitcher Geoff Zahn was all business, helping his team muzzle the Kansas City Athletics, 5-1. Zahn went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 13-14. Carlos A Diaz earned his 31st save in 34 chances.
The Red Sox got an important contribution from left fielder Joe Harris, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-1 curveball into left for a solo home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 3-1.
"I really like what we did out there today," Harris said after the game.
The victory gives the Red Sox a record of 81-51.
