The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Milwaukee fans at County Stadium .

The Milwaukee Bears picked up a win at County Stadium , knocking off the Boston Americans, 8-2. Starting pitcher Robin Roberts played a key role in the triumph. Milwaukee now has a record of 76-58 with the win.

In the bottom of the third, with Milwaukee leading 3-2, Todd Zeile hit a fastball from Les Tietje for a 2-run single, giving the Bears the lead, 5-2.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Roberts said.
