Federals Top Browns, 10-8
The Chicago Federals withstood an impressive performance by St. Louis right fielder Cristobal Torriente to defeat the Browns, 10-8, at Sportsman's Park. Torriente belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Nelson Figueroa was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 5 save opportunities. The losing streak for St. Louis has now reached 4 games.

Chicago needed the clutch hitting of Marvin Williams to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Federals on top, 10-8. For the game, Williams had 1 home run and 3 singles in 6 at-bats.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Williams told the Chicago Daily.
