| Houston Sunk by Kansas City, 4-1 | The Kansas City Monarchs picked up a win at Buck O'Neil Yard, knocking off the Houston Eagles, 4-1. On the mound for Kansas City was left-hander Frank Tanana, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Monarchs go to 47-94 with the win.
Tom Parrott took Ted Gray deep with two out in the bottom of the fourth. On a first pitch fastball, Parrott drilled a 2-run home run to left. It was his 8th home run of the season and put Kansas City on top, 2-0.
"I really like what we did out there today," Tanana said after the game.
