| American Giants Lose to Bears, 5-1 | The Milwaukee Bears defeated the Chicago American Giants, 5-1, at County Stadium today. Leading the charge for Milwaukee was shortstop Toby Harrah. He went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times. Jim Bruske was credited with the save, his 20th in 25 tries. With the win, Milwaukee pushed its record to 83-61.
Greg Vaughn came through for Milwaukee when he hit a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a two-strike fastball to center field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Harrah told the Milwaukee Herald.
