New York Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2 | The New York Black Yankees have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Boston Americans, winning 6-2 at Yankee Stadium I today. Black Yankees right-hander Brad Penny was named player of the game after he threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Black Yankees to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Round 2.
Fred Lynn, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Black Yankees organization, chipped in for New York with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I liked his command," said New York manager John McInerney. "Brad was throwing strikes."
