Black Yankees on to League Championship Series | Ken Singleton said his team performs best when their backs are against the wall.
In a one-game playoff, that's certainly the case and the New York Black Yankees proved their worth by beating the Caribou Caribou by a score of 5-4 at Yankee Stadium I in the October Madness.
"We don't give up, we don't panic, we just get the job done when it matters," said Singleton, who backed up his talk with a 3-for-4 performance that earned him MVP honors.
New York will look to continue its strong play in the face of adversity when it advances to the October Madness.
The New York Black Yankees will play against the Boston Americans in the next round. Boston had a bye in the October Madness. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 7th, 1977. | | | | |
