| Senators Win October Madness | Washington Senators players, coaches and personnel swarmed the field at Dead River Aroostookdome tonight after the club posted a 8-6 triumph over the Caribou Caribou in the October Madness.
"We're not where we want to be yet, but any time you can survive a one-game elimination, you're feeling good," said Tony Conigliaro, who had 3 hits in 6 at bats to pace his team's offence.
The club will look to continue playing strong in the League Championship Series.
"There's no reason this team can't go all the way, and everyone in this clubhouse believes that," said Conigliaro.
The Washington Senators will play against the New York Black Yankees in the next round. New York had a bye in the October Madness. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 7th, 1969. | | |  | |
