Washington starter J R Richard pitched effectively against the Boston Americans at Fenway Park II. The right-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Bob Reynolds, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities. The Senators bumped their record to 106-57 with this latest triumph.

Ben Taylor, who is a two-time Ozzie winner, aided the Washington cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4.
