| Yokohama Beats Detroit, 5-3 | The Yokohama Dodgers picked up a win at Tiger Stadium, knocking off the Detroit Stars, 5-3. On the mound for Yokohama was right-hander Hod Eller, who played a pivotal role in the win. The loss makes Detroit 20-13.
In the top of the sixth, Yokohama left fielder George Foster put his team on top. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 7th home run of the year. Detroit pitcher Jeff Weaver served it up. Just like that, the Dodgers were ahead, 3-1.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Eller.
