Caribou Clip Americans 4-3 in League Championship Series Contest
The Caribou Caribou topped the Boston Americans by the score of 4-3 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the League Championship Series today. The largest share of the credit went to player of the game and Caribou starter Billy Rhines, who threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs in the win.

Jay Bell, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Caribou cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop went 2 for 4 with a double.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Rhines.

The next game is set to be played Sunday, October 8th, 1978 in Caribou. The scheduled starters for the game are Amos Rusie for Boston and Mickey McDermott for Caribou.
