| Eagles Deal Federals 4-2 Loss | The Houston Eagles had to overcome a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Homer Bailey to grab a narrow 4-2 win at Wrigley Field. Bailey went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win elevated the Eagles to 92-56.
The Eagles extended their lead in the top of the sixth. With two outs and a runner on 2nd, Jim Wynn reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 1 run to make it 3-1, Houston.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Houston manager Charles Wolfson.
