Rice Lifts Senators to 13-7 Win
The Washington Senators downed the New York Black Yankees, 13-7. The hitting star was left fielder Jim Rice. Rice was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6 for the Senators. The loss makes New York 19-19.

Rice put Washington up, 13-6, when he hit a 3-run home run off Pete Schourek in the bottom of the eighth. His 9th home run of the season helped the Senators capture the win.

"We maximized our offense today," said Washington skipper Rickie E. Shaw. "That makes everyone's life easier."
