| Americans Deal Black Yankees 3-2 Defeat | Boston and New York played a hard-fought contest.
Boston starter Johnny Klippstein pitched well against the New York Black Yankees at Yankee Stadium I. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Klippstein picked up the win for Boston, going 5 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 7-8.
Bob L Johnson helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give Boston a 2-0 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Johnson.
With the victory, the Americans upped their record to 83-77.
