| Eagles Win at Memphis, 5-3 | Two elite teams met in a late-season showdown.
Houston starter Chuck Stobbs had a strong outing against the Memphis Red Sox at Elvis Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Takashi Saito earned the save, his 41st in 46 tries.
Houston relied on the hitting of Michael Brantley to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to put the Eagles on top, 4-1. For the game, Brantley had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
Stobbs called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
The win elevated the Eagles to 99-63.
