Dodgers Upend Americans, 5-2 | Yokohama rode a fine outing from starter Hod Eller to victory over the Boston Americans at Fenway Park II. The final score was 5-2. Eller, now 8-3, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Brad Brach closed the door for Yokohama, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Gary Gaetti? The Yokohama second baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dodgers on top, 2-0. For the game, Gaetti had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Yokohama manager Eric Misener.
Yokohama, at 20-26, occupies third place in the Senior Circuit Mama Mia. | | | | |
