Nolan Handcuffs Senators, Eagles Seize 2-1 Advantage in World Series | The Houston Eagles got an exceptional performance from starter Gary Nolan, who silenced the Washington offense en route to a 5-0 shutout win in Game 3 of the World Series today. The Senators could never get a bead on the right-handed Nolan, who threw 9 innings of shutout ball. The Eagles now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
Nolan allowed no runs on 1 hit over 9 innings for the Eagles. He walked 4 and struck out 11.
Nolan called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
