Senators Win to Tie Series with Eagles
Trailing by a game in the World Series, Mike Mussina was ready for his start.

The right-hander turned in a performance for the ages at Buffalo Stadium today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Washington Senators to victory in Game 4 of the World Series. Mussina held the Houston Eagles to 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 5. The win brought Washington into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.

Mussina, who was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, threw 94 pitches over 9 innings, while allowing no runs.

"Mike -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Senators manager Rickie E. Shaw. "He was the key to us winning."

The next game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20th, 1981 at RFK Stadium in Washington. Slated to start are Pedro J Martinez for the Houston Eagles and William Bell for the the Washington Senators.
