Host Senators Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
Houston second baseman Dan T Murphy was the key at RFK Stadium today, as he powered the Eagles to victory in a critical Game 5 of the World Series. The Eagles took the 6-5 win over the Washington Senators to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Brett Butler, the two-time All-Star . Butler contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Houston up, 6-5.

Senators manager Rickie E. Shaw did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the World Series."

Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday at Buffalo Stadium in Houston. The scheduled starters for the game are Jack Sharrott for Washington and Gary Nolan for Houston.
