Division Round Game 1 Goes to Milwaukee Thanks to Foster
The Milwaukee Bears powered past the visiting Detroit Stars, 5-2, in the opener of the Division Round at County Stadium today. Milwaukee starting pitcher Willie Foster threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Bears now lead the series 1-0.

In the bottom of the seventh, Milwaukee center fielder Jim Edmonds hit a two-strike fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It put the Bears up, 3-2.

Foster called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Bob Ojeda for Detroit and Robin Roberts for Milwaukee.
