Hill Hits 2 home runs in Federals Win | The Chicago Federals and Los Angeles Angels completed their game despite the rain.
Federals center fielder Pete Hill put his stamp on his team's 10-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Hill hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Chicago in the contest. Bob Gibson was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts.
Jimmy Sheckard had a big grand slam home run for the Federals in the bottom of the eighth inning. With Chicago leading 5-2 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Jim C Wright and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 9th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Federals ahead, 9-2.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Chicago manager Chase Castner.
Chicago has now won 4 straight. | | | | |
