| Foster Shuts Down Angels, 5-0 | Willie Foster kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Milwaukee Bears were all smiles after winning 5-0 against the Los Angeles Angels at County Stadium today. The left-handed Foster gave up no runs in his start, permitted 5 hits and had 9 strikeouts.
"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Foster said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."
Thus far this season Foster has posted a 8-3 record, started 14 games, struck out 80 batters in 110.2 innings and compiled a 1.14 ERA. | | |  | |
