The New York Black Yankees topped the Chicago Federals, 6-3, in Junior Circuit action at Yankee Stadium I. The standout performance belonged to New York pitcher and Los Angeles, California, native Dennis Lamp. Lamp got the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. Lamp allowed 1 run.
Dennis Lamp and the Black Yankees were in trouble in the top of the fifth. With the bases loaded and Chicago trailing 5-1, Lamp had to face Rafael Palmeiro. But he was able to retire Palmeiro, who grounded out.
