Federals Beat Dodgers, 7-2 | A 4-RBI performance from Pete Hill, who is tied for 5th in the NL in runs scored with 44, helped the Chicago Federals beat the Yokohama Dodgers, 7-2. Sam McConnell snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 2-1 on the season. The Federals, at 30-38, sit in third place in the Senior Circuit Mama Mia.
With Chicago leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Hill hit a curveball from Frank Reberger for a 3-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Federals ahead, 6-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Hill told the Chicago Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there." | | | | |
