| Caribou Lose Late, 5-1 | Birmingham Black Barons starter Garland Braxton hurled his team past the Caribou Caribou, 5-1. Birmingham reliever Glenn Gardner picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Orval Overall took the loss. With the victory, the Black Barons upped their record to 42-33.
Pat Patterson hit a 2-run double off Orval Overall in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Black Barons in front, 3-1. In addition to the double, Patterson had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Braxton told the Birmingham Citizen.
