Black Yankees Stumble, Lose to Stars | Detroit first baseman Mule Suttles contributed to his team's 9-4 win over the New York Black Yankees. Suttles, who led the NL in RBI with 108 in 2001, went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Stars. The win elevated the Stars to 42-35.
Suttles had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Stars went on to win.
"We played hard and won," said Suttles. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.' | | | | |
