Bears Fall Short, 1-0, at New York
Yankee Stadium I was the site of a true pitchers' duel.

New York got a first-rate effort from pitcher Dave Dravecky, who frustrated Milwaukee hitters en route to a 1-0 Black Yankees triumph at Yankee Stadium I. In 6.1 innings, Dravecky surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. Pete Schourek got the save, his 13th in 19 chances.

Tied up with the Bears in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Black Yankees got a boost from designated hitter Jack Clark. With a runner on 2nd, Clark saw a 0-1 changeup from Willie Foster and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put New York on top, 1-0.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Dravecky said in reaction to the win.

New York has now won 3 straight, while the Bears have lost 3 in a row.
