The St. Louis Browns bested the Los Angeles Angels, 6-5, at Wrigley Field (LA). Billy Goodman was one of the standouts. He was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. St. Louis reliever Frank Pastore picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Felix Hernandez shouldered the loss. Dave LaRoche notched his 4th save in 5 chances.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Goodman delivered big-time for St. Louis, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Felix Hernandez. The game-changing hit put the Browns on top, 6-5.

"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Goodman.
