| Athletics Need Extra Frames to Get Past Browns | For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
The St. Louis Browns got a sterling performance from pitcher Burleigh Grimes, but the Kansas City Athletics still prevailed, 4-3. Grimes threw 9 innings of 8-hit ball. Kansas City reliever Matt Lindstrom picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Burleigh Grimes took the loss.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the tenth, an error by the Browns allowed the Athletics to score the winning run.
"I'm glad this one's going in the books as a 'W'," Robinson said.
At 41-50, the Athletics find themselves in third place in the Junior Circuit Fernando.
