The Yokohama Dodgers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Mike Hampton, who stifled the Chicago offense en route to a 2-1 Dodgers win at Wrigley Field. Hampton picked up the win for Yokohama, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Gary Gaetti? The Yokohama shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dodgers on top, 2-0. For the game, Gaetti had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Gaetti said.
The losing streak for Chicago has now reached 5 games.
