Senators Suffer 5-4 Loss to Kansas City | The Kansas City Monarchs defeated the Washington Senators, 5-4, at Buck O'Neil Yard today. Leading the charge for Kansas City was third baseman Stephen Drew. He was 2 for 4 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kansas City reliever Sonny Siebert picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Ben DeMott absorbed the loss. Bruce Dal Canton earned his 10th save in 15 chances.
Drew had a timely hit for Kansas City in the bottom of the sixth. With Washington trailing 2-1, he turned a 0-1 changeup into a bases-clearing triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season, making it 4-2, Kansas City.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Drew told the Kansas City Chronicle.
