| Suttles Shines in 7-2 Detroit Win | The Detroit Stars stymied the Chicago Federals, 7-2, at Wrigley Field. Mule Suttles had a good day at the plate. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for Detroit. Bob Ojeda, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 10-10. The triumph puts Detroit at 58-45 for the season.
Suttles put Detroit up, 4-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Homer Bailey in the top of the third. His 29th home run of the season helped the Stars capture the win.
Suttles told a Detroit Chronicle reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
