Led by Steven Souza, the Washington Senators defeated the Milwaukee Bears, 5-4. Souza hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Senators. Washington is now 44-63, Milwaukee 59-48.

The game ended in the bottom of the 12th when Souza hit a tie-breaking solo home run. The long ball, his 14th home run of the season, gave Washington a dramatic win.

"It was terrific getting this win," Souza said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
