| Edmonds Leads Bears to 8-2 Win Over Athletics | Bears center fielder Jim Edmonds put his stamp on his team's 8-2 win over the Kansas City Athletics. Edmonds went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Milwaukee in the contest. Don Drysdale, who went 8.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 13-10. With the win, Milwaukee upped its record to 66-49.
Greg Vaughn tagged a home run off Robbie Ray in the top of the third. His 2-run blast put the Bears on top, 2-0. In all, Vaughn had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
