| Bears Earn 3-2 Win Against Americans | The Milwaukee Bears had to overcome a fine performance from Boston pitcher German Marquez to grab a 3-2 win at County Stadium . Marquez allowed 2 runs over 7 innings. Milwaukee reliever Bill E Donovan got the win, raising his record to 3-0. John W Morris was tagged with the loss. Milwaukee raised its record to 67-50 with the win.
Nick Swisher, who is tied for 7th in the NL in bases on balls with 57, won the game with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the 11th. In the contest, the Milwaukee right fielder was 1 for 4 with a walk.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Swisher said.
