| Galarraga Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Saturday, September 15th, 2001 It seemed that Los Angeles first baseman Andres Galarraga could do no wrong as the Angels KO'd the Black Yankees, 11-6 today. Galarraga rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Black Yankees hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Angels were stealing signs," growled one unhappy New York fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Galarraga in the postgame press interview.
Andres Galarraga singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Mark W Davis in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
In 131 games this season Galarraga has compiled a .237 batting average with 116 hits and 17 home runs. He has also scored 49 times and knocked in 57 runs.
