| Junior Circuit Selects #1 Rookie Saturday, October 29th, 2005 The top-ranked rookie performer in the Junior Circuit was Kansas City shortstop Jackie Robinson. It was announced today by league officials that he had been named the winner of the 2005 Jack Roosevelt Robinson Award.
Robinson chalked up some good season stats, including a .349 batting average and .392 on-base percentage, while racking up 15 home runs, 70 RBIs and 96 runs scored.
Davey Johnson of the Washington Senators finished second in voting, while Cory Sullivan of the Kansas City Athletics finished third. | | |
