| Bollweg Strokes 6 Hits Thursday, September 1st, 2005 It seemed that Auckland first baseman Don Bollweg could do no wrong as the Tuatara KO'd the Yard Goats, 18-0 today. Bollweg rapped out 6 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Yard Goats hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Tuatara were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Hartford fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Bollweg in the postgame press interview.
Don Bollweg singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Randy Keisler in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far this year Bollweg is batting .282 with 16 home runs, 73 RBIs and 90 runs scored. | | |
