Wednesday, September 14th, 2005
Harrisburg second baseman Kevin Jordan couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the League Championship Series.

"It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Jordan moments after his club eliminated the Portland Sea Dogs to advance to the World Series.

Harrisburg won the final game by a score of 7-2 at Ballpark of Hayneville and took the series 4-2.

"We won the series and that's the main thing," Jordan said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted."

For the series, Jordan hit .435 with a .423 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 11 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Portland manager .

The Harrisburg Senators will play against the Auckland Tuatara in the next round. Auckland won their series against the San Francisco Seals 4 games to 0. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
