 | Harrisburg Moves on to World Series Wednesday, September 14th, 2005 Harrisburg second baseman Kevin Jordan couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the League Championship Series. "It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Jordan moments after his club eliminated the Portland Sea Dogs to advance to the World Series. Harrisburg won the final game by a score of 7-2 at Ballpark of Hayneville and took the series 4-2. "We won the series and that's the main thing," Jordan said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted." For the series, Jordan hit .435 with a .423 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 11 RBI and scored 4 runs. "He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Portland manager . The Harrisburg Senators will play against the Auckland Tuatara in the next round. Auckland won their series against the San Francisco Seals 4 games to 0. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. |   |
