 | Riddle, on Top of His Game, Beats San Francisco, 8-0 Tuesday, June 7th, 2005 In an outstanding mound performance, Auckland Tuatara starter Elmer Riddle fired a complete-game shutout against the San Francisco Seals at Chukars Ballpark today. Riddle was the key to the Tuatara's 8-0 win. The 37-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 4 hits and 2 walks he allowed. "4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." Presently Riddle has a 7-1 mark in 9 starts with a 1.94 ERA. He has given up 36 hits in 65 innings, struck out 69 and issued 10 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .159 batting average against him. |   |
