 | Pirates Adams Smacks 5 Hits Monday, August 1st, 2005 Wading River Pirates first baseman Dick Adams really lit up the Readfield Tigers with a 5-hit barrage today at Readfield Elementary School -- a performance that sparked the Pirates to a 26-5 triumph. He shrugged off the performance after the game, saying "sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes." Dick Adams singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, grounded out in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. So far this season Adams is hitting .294 with 27 home runs. |   |
