 | Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Saturday, August 6th, 2005 If there wasn't a history between Austin Meadows of Erie and Jim Unknown of Maine, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 7 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Meadows said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." For the season Meadows is currently batting .374 with 17 home runs and 41 RBIs. In 31 games he has reached base at a .456 rate and scored 31 runs to date. |   |
