 | Broberg Skunks Wading River, 7-0 Saturday, August 6th, 2005 Pete Broberg hurled a fine game for the Sydney Blue Sox at Silverbacks Ballpark today, holding the Wading River Pirates to 2 hits in a shutout win. "When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," Sydney manager said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is." The right-hander had 15 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 7-0 victory. "An outstanding job," Wading River manager said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game." Checking out his stats for the season, Broberg has racked up 7 wins and 5 losses in 13 starts, 2.29 ERA and struck out 111 batters in 102.1 innings. |   |
