 | 5-Hit Blitz by Amaro Sr Thursday, August 25th, 2005 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Ruben Amaro Sr today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of Norfolk and paced the Jazz to a 8-0 win over the Borman Astros. After his dynamite batting performance, the Indian Shores shortstop told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Ruben Amaro Sr hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. So far this year in 10 games Amaro Sr is hitting .448 with 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 7 runs scored. |   |
