 | Player of the Week: Las Vegas's Salazar Monday, August 29th, 2005 A battle-tested Luis Salazar declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 33-year-old Las Vegas third baseman collected the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award. He wrapped up the week with a .478 average, 11 hits in 23 at-bats, 5 home runs, 9 RBIs and 7 runs scored. So far this season Salazar has put up a .313 batting average with 124 hits, 32 home runs and 91 RBIs. |   |
