 | Pirates Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Monday, September 5th, 2005 The Wading River Pirates have spent much of the season on the outside looking in at the playoff race. They will be permanently on the outside now, after being officially eliminated from contention today. Wading River last appeared in the postseason in 1974. This is their 31st consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 43 times in their 44-year history. |   |
